We are pleased to introduce our contribution to the world of
ornamental grasses:
Calamagrostis x
acutiflora
"Eldorado" PP#16486
This grass was discovered here at our
nursery as a sport of Calamagrostis x acutiflora
"Karl Foerster". "Eldorado" has all the quality
characteristics of "Karl Foerster"'that made it the
Perennial Plant of the Year in 2001. We think 'Eldorado'
is much more exciting with the bold gold strip running down
the center of each blade and believe it will brighten the
corner of any garden!
After several years of field trials (and
lots of paperwork), 'Eldorado' was issued a plant patent in
September 2005. We are now working with a company to
license growers and regulate propagation.
"Eldorado' is available through our nursery
in one gallon pots on a limited basis this year and as plugs

We licensed Walter's Gardens to do some of
the inital field testing of 'Eldorado', and they deemed it
worthy to add to the line of perennials they sell. By
this time next year, hopefully it will be more widely
available. We hope you will make a spot for this
ornamental grass in your nursery in the years to come!!
